Speechless

This guy just takes the biscuit. Someone, PLEASE comment and let me know what you think? I kind of agree with the over-kill of minutes of silence etc., but he speaks so callously.

and on another note.....

Say it ain't so

I will comment. And I expect to take some heat for this as well.

I partly agree with him...in the sense that there is such a thing as desensitization. Constantly throwing this stuff in our faces will (at least for me, anyway) have the reverse effect. I get tired of hearing the same thing over and over again. Yes, I know it's a tragedy. It's terrible. But I knew it was a terrible tragedy the day it happened. I donated my money, and did my part. I'd like to get back to my regularly scheduled programming now.

I've run across that guy on BE - all of his posts are quite ass-holish. I don't think he's serious; I think he's just trying to be as crass as possible to get attention.

But here is someone who actually is serious: http://libertariangirl.blogspot.com/2004/12/is-us-stingy-with-tsunami-aid-who.html

"It's not our responsibility to help those who refuse to help themselves." Um, hello? How are tsunami victims refusing to help themselves?

I think that this guy is being an insensitve satirist. The comments as a whole are being expressed soley to enrage. He is not a good satirist but if you dissemble his statements into smaller blocks it is easier to make out the satirical content. I think. Could be I'm wrong, but I don't see anyone who would truly state such things as truths would survive for very long on this planet.

I was taken aback by Sir Maxwell the first time I visited his site through BE too. I definitely didn't blogmark him, but I didn't put him on the do not view list either. I think he writes with a sarcastic, extremist point of view. Not to be taken totally seriously, but to make you think, make you comment, and make you come back for more. Obviously it's working, because he's always on the top ten list at Blog Explosion.

Looks like a fake blog, ala The Onion to me...
