New friends

Have you ever had a friend in your life that you have never physically met? Just through the internet/blogging world?

Well, I do and I feel like I have known her forever!

(You know who you are! Thanks for being a buddy!)

Do you have a friend like this? If so, let me know!

I have several. Trouble is, they don't fall perfectly into your category. Yes I met them thru the internet, but I HAVE met them in person. We are all very close...it's a group of six of us and we have known each other for something like 5 years. They are my buds.

I also have a long-distance friend that I have never met in person. I've known her since I was in the 6th grade, so that is, um...25 years. WHAT?!? OMG. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah. Fiona lives in Leeds and we first exchanged names thru Girl Scouts (although in GB, it is called something else, right?) and started as mail pen pals. We have grown up together. Never met her in person, but it doesn't feel like that. I would love to go there some day to see her.

Yeah, I have a few friends that are important to me, that I met online. It doesn't feel that strange anymore, especially since many of my close friends from "real life" live far away now, and I usually keep in touch with them through the internet too. So whether I met a friend at university, or on ICQ, it doesn't really matter.

Guilty! Right here!

Though it kind of umn..for want of a better word... rocks! :)

some people think that's weird. but I say, it's amazing, because we bloggers with online friends, are not superficial. and we trust (some) people... a lot of others have forgotten how to do that!

I second what letti said. Eight years ago I met my soul mate, who has now been my hubby for 6 years! Yes..it did take him a year to talk me into meeting him in person, then we took a year to get to know each other better. :-) We're very very happy!

I actually have 2 friends that I've yet to meet IRL.

I met them both on I think it was ParentCentral.com or something like that,....

Anita and I have been emailing for omg, at least 5yrs now. She lives in Australia.

Kim was in NY at the time, and has since moved to Florida, but we've been emailing for a good 4yrs at least as well.

They're both really great people and terrific moms
