Have a Mc-Crappy day

Can some one out there, please tell me that my actions are justified!

I went to McDonalds yesterday (I know, Supersize me!) and I didn't really have time to wait, so I thought, "Hmmm, I'll go through the drive thru".

I placed my order to the spotty-Adrian Mole*-barely-out-of-daipers teenager, and he asked me to pull up in the assigned parking space (for drive thru customers only) to wait for my order.

parking
Is this sign redundant?

I told him "No". I had come to this drive thru for a reason and I'll be damned if I'm going to pull up and wait. I would wait at the window until my order had been given to me, wherein this caused such a commotion with the teen who was stumbling through incoherent sentences. The manager came over and asked what my problem was. MY problem! I told him that my only problem was that if I had wanted to WAIT for my order, I would have gone INSIDE to place my order. Apparently, a drive thru is not a drive thru merely a pull up, place your order and wait thru.

I know this makes me sound impatient and bee-atchy, but sometimes, you just reach the point of no return and the world can go to hell, and you have to stick by your principles. OK, I wasn't having too great a day.....

Anyway, by the time we had finished ..... er... debating... whether I would pull up or not, my order came and I gave the manager one of those smiles...... you know, the ones that basically say "I told you so you Dipshit but have a nice day" Yep, we all have one! and drove off.

* I was halfway through and when looking for the picture I saw that I am not the only one who has trouble with this! Check out Unixdude
** I'm sure we all remember Adrian Mole Aged 13 and 3/4

You know, I hate it when that happens too. And if I'm having one of those days it can be the stupidest of things that sends me spiralling out of control.
The worst thing about these places is that you just know they won;t actually do anything to rectify the problem and also that you just KNOW you're going back there one day to spend more money with them.
Cheer up! It's Friday!

ps. I still love to read Adrian Mole. The daytrip that the school took to London (?) was one of the funniest things I have ever read!

Well at least they weren't asking you to get out of the car. So rest assured you can always to go McDonalds in your bathrobe and slippers!! :)

But seriously, they shouldn't have asked what *your* problem was. That is kind of rude.

My guess is that they were just making sure your food was cooked fresh. You didn't say what time it was, so maybe they should have had some ready during rush-hour. Maybe they were having a rough day, too.

I guess the drive-thru isn't necessarily for the fastest service (though they try and make it that way if you ever watch what's going on inside) but it does keep you having to get out of your car on a bad-weather day!

Hope today's a better one!!

Well, no, it isn't redundant. It's more of an oxymoron. But I get your point nonetheless :p

i don't think you were wrong to ask to wait at the window...you should only have to wait if its special order (my hubby does this all the time)...if they make me park up i time them and after so long you can get it free...i can't remember how long it is now or maybe they don't do that anymore...

i think customer service is redundant...

I had an experience similar to that except I just told those beeyotches to give me my money back and I went to Wendy's instead.

I think your actions were completely justified.

i went throught the mcdonalds drive thru a while back. i got my order fine enough, took a bite as i was driving off (as you do), and noticed my burger was like cardboard. I then proceeded to drive back throught the drive thru to complain about it, which took no more than a couple minutes from when i got my order, only to be looked at like i was stupid and they had never seen me before.
i got my new order.. after a bit of a debate..as they commented on my already taking a bite out of my burger, and was on my way without so much as a have a nice day from the spotty teen.

there used to be a time, where mcdonald staff were actually quite good, but i think they may have lowered their standards now.

It is ALWAYS like that at our McD's. You always seem to have to pull ahead. Drives me crazy.

On another note...I sure hope the pissy workers didn't cough on your fries or put a booger in your burger
